SMA Family
SMA fiber optic cable connectors are the longest existing optical connector standard, and feature threaded plugs and sockets. The SMA standard is not only used for optical fibers, It was originally been invented for coaxial cable. This connector’sassist a 3.172 mm ferrule. it is used in metrology, medical, and military applications.
LUCOTEK’s SMA 905 connector kits have three types, one of the crimp-type connector kits is suitable for application with multi-mode standard and multi-mode large core optical fibers. Crimp is available for 0.9, 2.0, 2.5, and 3.0 mm fiber optic cables,
The other two types are the screw type and glue type, usually used for the armored cable, available for 6.1mm,7.0mm,6.4mm,6.7mm,8.2mm,and 9.0mm, and also can follow the customer's requirements.
All of the types, Customers can choose between round (standard) and hexagonal nut versions.

SMA FiberPatch cord
The SMA905 fiber optic patch cord was one of the First fiber optic interconnect system that gained industry wide acceptance. The SMA905 fiber patch cord are widely used for industrial, military, medical and laser system.
Typically,
fiber patch cables with connectors such as SMA are limited to
tolerating approximately 1 W of power. When several hundred
milliwatts of power leaks, it can cause the epoxy inside the ferrule
to liquefy and cover the end face, resulting in attenuation,
localized heating, and rapid power degradation.
So the high-power fiber cables are specifically designed for high-power applications. They incorporate air gap ferrule technology, which eliminates energy-absorbing materials around the fiber end faces.
